The current focus in baseball is on individual players. No single player can defeat an entire opposing team. Imagine Steph Curry taking on the LA Lakers. Although Curry is a World Class basketball player--an integral part of the Warriors winning back-to-back championships, he, by himself is unable to claim the title.
Fans are accustomed to tracking the individual statistics of a star player, and the win/loss record of the team. Fanstats measures the strengths and weaknesses of a team by utilizing 40 different metrics and condensing them into an easy to understand weekly report.
Team sports perfectly illustrates what is possible when a diverse group of people unite to work towards a common goal. The goal may not be obtained, but the value is in the journey.
